HOW WE BREATHE IS HOW WE FEEL, AND HOW WE FEEL IS HOW WE LIVE.
WHEN WE FREE THE BREATH, WE'RE FREE TO LIVE ...
WHEN WE FREE THE BREATH, WE'RE FREE TO LIVE ...

Conscious Breathing is simply the most powerful tool I have ever experienced for releasing the traumas in our lives, reclaiming our natural freedom, aliveness, creativity, and wholeness, and experiencing relaxation, peace of mind, clarity, and joy. Over many years studying conscious breathing techniques from around the world, I created Somatic Breath Coaching, a step by step process for cultivating the the four ARTS of Breathing:
Through the ARTS of Breathing, you'll experience ... |
Healing
- relieve stress, anxiety, and panic
- alleviate fatigue, burnout, and depression
- reduce the impact of emotional trauma
- integrate unresolved issues that keep you from being fully present, authentic, and joyful
- move through challenging emotions into well-being, emotional freedom and peace!
Wholeness

- recharge your vital energy
- feel grounded, at ease, and safe in your body
- reclaim well-being and nourishing pleasure
- access the body’s deep organismic wisdom

- relax and sleep better
Profound Growth

- improve relationships by deepening your capacity for intimacy, giving, and receiving.
- cultivate transcendent states of consciousness and connection
What Happens in a Somatic Breath Coaching Session?
We begin by exploring the breath and the many ways it reflects physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual patterns in your life. Then, I will teach you simple, practical and effective breathing practices — tailored just for you! — that you can practice on your own, to help you understand and release bad breathing habits, deal more effectively with stress-related and emotional symptoms, and reclaim your own open, natural, healthy breath. When you are ready for the next step, we will shift to somatic breath therapy — a conscious, connected, relaxed, diaphragmatic breath, freeing your bodymind from deep physical, emotional, and energetic patterns of contraction and trauma, and opening a space for your natural organismic breath and your heart's deepest wisdom to emerge. Somatic breath therapy uses artfully designed music, verbal coaching, and skillful, respectful touch (your own, or mine if we are in the same space) to support the breath in breaking free!

What Makes your Conscious Breathing Work Unique?
After two decades of studying breathwork traditions around the world and working with my own breathing and the breathing of my clients, I have crystalized that experience into the four A.R.T.S. of Breathing™, a simple and profound method of cultivating the breath that anyone can learn, and harness to change their breathing and their lives. This method begins by developing a deep felt sense of breathing Awareness, cultivating a powerful Relationship with our breathing, Transforming our breathing and our lives, and culminating in the experience of Spirit, breathing us. I am also a trainer in Somatic Breath Therapy and the Co-Creator of Somatic Breath Coaching, and draw on these techniques to support you in learning the A.R.T.S. of Breathing. SBC and SBT are forms of Conscious Breathing that draw upon the most powerful discoveries of rebirthing, holotropic, transformational, therapeutic, Middendorf, Buteyko, and yogic breathwork. Somatic Breath Coaching and Therapy:
What is the difference between Somatic Breath Coaching , Somatic Breath Journeys, Healing and Couples Work?
All of the breathing approaches include a detailed breathing analysis, which looks at the patterns in your breathing, and how those impact the way you feel and the way you live. In Somatic Breath Coaching (conducted in person or by web) I then give you exercises to take with you out into your life to experience different ways of breathing/feeling/living, which we then tweak together in our next session to give you the best possible results. A Somatic Breath Journey Session (in person only) is an ecstatic inner journey catalyzed by the profound power and wisdom of your own breath. In somatic breath journeys we use conscious connected breathing to go right to the source of those breathing patterns and unwind them at the source; this can involve profound insights and shifts in perspective, tapping into undiscovered resources inside yourself, physical and emotional release, and transcendent experiences that make a profound impact. A Somatic Breath Healing Session (in person) weaves traditional indigenous techniques for emotional, energetic and spiritual healing into your breathing session. A Somatic Breath Couples Session (in person) gives partners in intimate relationships a powerful experience of connection, resonance, joy, pleasure, and understanding through a shared breathing experience.
Please let me know if you have any other questions! I look forward to connecting, and perhaps working together.
Blessings,
Hunter

Somatic Breath Coaching and Therapy:
- Build upon the basic foundation of Mindfulness, cultivating deeply embodied and compassionate presence.
- Can be delivered without touch or with Touch, depending on the client, provider and situation; every person’s breathing, and life, are unique!
- Support clients in re-engaging with their body’s stories in a safe, supportive and integrative environment that does not necessarily require re-experiencing past trauma.
- Teach practitioners to synchronize their body awareness with their clients’ by breathing with them during key moments in the session, maintaining an emotionally and somatically attuned relationship.
- Embrace and collaborate with a “third thing”, the deep organismic intelligence of the body, that guides the our healing work together.
- Makes an important distinction between authentic emotional release and dramatic expression. Authentic release coupled with relaxed breathing can produce lasting healing benefits, while dramatic expression only offers a temporary reduction of emotional intensity. We train practitioners to feel and know the difference.
- Address both the client’s state of consciousness – the ‘aha’s or insights that are triggered by healing experiences – and the client’s stage of development. We believe that both are important to sustained healing and transformation.
- Incorporate the latest discoveries in interpersonal neurobiology, trauma therapy, and sports physiology, and addresses therapeutic concerns such as re-traumatization, transference, countertransference, ethical standards, referral, and establishing a safe and empathic therapeutic container.
